Can you post at least twice a week? Yes.
How long have you been rping? 5+ Years.
How old are you? --
Full Name: Elle Kites
Nickname: Mute (what close friends call her in jest), Nightmare's Serpent (online handle)
Age: 18
Physical Description: If you need a visual, try this, just don't count the colors or tattoo (although the tattoo would be fitting, she just can't get one).
As much as Elle would like to be identified by her pretty face and full lips, it’s not what people remember her by... Elle is an albino and thus has rather unique looks. Her shoulder length fly-away hair is white and her skin is very pale, almost sickly looking on certain days.
The most remarkable feature of her albinism are her eyes, of course, they are crystalline blue. (No not all people with albinism have pink eyes. Some are blue or even purple-ish.)
Being that Elle’s skin and eyes are particularly sensitive to sun, she often wears lots of sunscreen and protective clothing as well as a pair of sunglasses when outside. Interestingly, Elle's choice in clothing sways drastically from day-to-day. Sometimes she will wear almost entirely all black (sort of like modern gothic style clothing), which is very bold considering it makes her look almost dead, especially when she wears a shade of black or blue lipstick. Or she'll stun with a very feminine and awing arraignment of skirt/top combinations. She sometimes wears the "less flashy" prom dresses out or modifies them into strange skirts or tops. (Her mother owns a clothing store which gets used clothing, and often she turns over anything that can't sell to Elle.
Occasionally, Elle will wear a "normal" outfit of jeans and a nice patterned top, but then she'll go and wear fancy sparkly high-heals with them. She's a bit eccentric when it comes to clothing, because it takes attention away from her albinism.
Elle is of average height at around 5’6’’ and has an average weight/build as well.
History: Elle was born prematurely, which is in part responsible for her unique appearance. Her parents, while loving and supportive of their children, probably shouldn’t have been encouraged to have any to begin with due to their genetics.
Elle’s elder brother (by five years) was born normal looking, but suffered from a condition, which rendered him deaf like their father. So Elle grew up learning sign language in addition to English.
In grade school she was always treated with respect from teachers, but was often the butt of jokes and ridicule from her ignorant classmates. Fortunately, Elle had her older brother to lean on for support. The two were very close. Middle school was looking to be just as miserable as her previous schooling, but Elle had no idea just how miserable life could be... During the summer her brother had an accident right after getting his drivers license. He was hospitalized for two months in a coma where he later passed away.
Personality: Elle is very quiet. In fact some might go as far as to call her mute (her friends at school actually use that in place of her name at times, Elle doesn't really care). She hasn’t spoken at all in the last four years. Her parents think it is because of the traumatic death of her brother, and that she is mimicking his deafness.
In fact most of the people in her high school automatically assume she is deaf because she sometimes uses sign language in front of them. She communicates by way of a note-pad or by taking yes or no questions. The one place she lets her “voice” out is online she loves chatting with people because she can both be more like herself and be another person at the same time. Online she goes by Nightmare’s Serpent which reflects some of her inner thoughts very well.
Elle, while she is a very good young woman, has a darker side. She means well, but sometimes she has a vicious temper...
Occupation: Full-time high school student on her last year, has some plans for community college, and she works part-time at an office supply store (she also helps her mother out at the clothing store if needed).
Character Level: Student
Character Class: Psycho-Extreme
Sub-class: None
Class Description: Lately, Elle has been practicing to develop a special sort of power. She has the ability to create, manipulate, and enter people's dreams. And to a certain extent if she meets someone who's in the middle of "daydreaming" (lit. not fully conscious or aware of their surroundings) she can make visions or hallucinations appear.
Her powers, while the cannot exactly affect the real world in the strictest sense are very strong (able to trick all five senses), and if she trained herself more she could probably make her the dreams visible to anyone. She is only limited by her imagination and can create very vivid images. She could easily be capable of fooling someone into thinking they are awake by controlling their dreams, not that she's usually in such a mood. Her powers, although they are becoming easier to control, are still quite draining to her. She often gets symptoms of dehydration or dizziness (lit. vertigo) when performing too long.
Elle does not need to be near a person for her powers to work, so long as she has a good mental picture of them. If she doesn't, she'll need either to see them as they sleep, or to physically touch them if she doesn't know them well enough.
Elle first found out about this ability when she was with her brother as he lay dying in the Hospital after his tragic accident. While in his coma-dreams she was able to let her brother "hear" her for the first time, and they talked for what seemed like hours. It was during this first trip where she vowed never to speak again. Elle fears that if she speaks she will lose her powers, although at the same time she thinks that because she has these powers her voice really is gone. She doesn't truly know if her voice is gone or if she is just willingly taking a vow of silence. Either way, it the price is something she is willing to pay.
Skill Class:
Weapons/Tools : “Mental Magic”
Pets/Familiars: None, although Elle has plans to buy a Python someday.
Likes: The Internet, "movies/video games" (lit. messing with people's dreams or simply watching), sleeping, fast food, boys (although she doesn't like to admit it).
Dislikes: The fact her brother is gone, anyone who mocks her, people who lie habitually, vegetables, overly "girly" girls (attitude wise).
Anything Else?
Here's a Sample Post for you to consider:
Elle Kites' face twitched, a thin smile began to form on her pale lips as she stared at her computer screen. She'd just been reading a message from an online friend telling her about a dream she'd just had the night before. Although the girl on the other side of the computer didn't realize it, they were neighbors and Elle had been visiting her in her sleep. The girl really wasn't someone Elle liked in person, but online she was very fun.
She read the message once or twice more as she formulated a reply. 'I dreamt I was outside my house and a lion was wandering through our guarden. I wasn't scared, but it was really strange feeling. I guess I had this dream because I really don't like cats. It was nice not to be so terrified of them in a dream for once, but I still don't like them.'
Online her name was Nightmare's Serpent and she spent a fair amount of time on Dream Forums and Chats. Elle typed a reply, her grin widening as she did so; 'Perhaps it means you are getting over your fears. I remember you telling me how you got scared at the zoo when you were little, maybe your subconscious is finally telling you that you are okay?'
More like, it was Elle trying to stop the girl from screaming whenever she encountered even a tabby cat while they both happened to be outside at the same time...
