At around 8 o'clock the staff registered student members of the Volunteer club all gathered in the cafeteria. The largely windowed area with as many tables as it had made it a perfect place to set up and talk about the going ons of the next day. At about 8:30 pm Ms. Carter told students about how the next day would go down. Any Staff registered student who was currently present would for on this night be sleeping in the cafeteria. That way, tomorrow all the students could wake up at four o'clock in the morning, be ready to leave by 4:30, and would arrive at the festival grounds for hopefully 5:30. These students would then spend the next six hours working with regular shifts, to help vendors and other volunteers with the festival. At 9 O'clock the regular club members would meet and be mentored by the staff members on what was happening. After their six hour shift, the staff students would be given a place to rest for one hour, and then would be set free to do as they please until the festival was over. They'd be given as many free food vouchers they as they would need, and would be given passes to the Volunteer Parade viewing spots. After that, so long as they checked in at least once every two hours, they had the lay of the land.
The information given to them, as well as the discussion which followed me have taken about an hour and a half. After every one had the right papers and their specific jobs down, and once every one had concluded asking their questions and hearing each other out, there was little too do until lights out at midnight. The girls and the guys sleeping sides were separated by walls of tables at which Ms. Carter, amongst other staff members were sleeping soundly.
Now it's about 10:30 pm. Mandatory lights our would occur at midnight, but a couple students were already wafting off to bed. They had all brought food and movies to watch, but the party was slowly dwindling down.

Terry sat with a couple of students watching one of the teachers fiddle with the projector. It'd been a fun night so far. After the staff meeting every one had dawned their Pj's, broken the snacks, and had gathered about on the floor to start watching on a select couple of movies. He'd missed dinner that night, not that there would have been much on one, but he was still able to bring his own little something to the party, so took no guilt on visiting the snack table often. He was actually just now coming back from his third trip, his plate in his right hand, weighed down with a new variety of treats, and the de-caffeinated soda in his left. As he walked he tripped and stumbled for a moment of the baggy pajama bottoms he wore. They were old, a faded red plaid that were once one of his older brothers... or possibly even his sisters. They came down far passed his toes, and had been proven all night to have been quite the hazardous possibility. In this instant though he was safe. He recovered and quickly, but steadily found his spot and set down his things. Then he looked around to see if the club's new secretary was having as much fun.

Elle Kites was typing furiously on her lap-top. Such was the job of a secretary, granted the mandatory portion of her recording had long since passed. But what could she say? She liked to write. And being that she had good ears the albino woman couldn't help but write down several conversations word-for-word on a separate Word Document. Sure she could post it online, or even use it against them later - depending on the sort of talk it involved, but to Elle, it wasn't like that. Simply put, she was just bored and liked to challenge herself. And who knew, maybe one day she'd be looking back on that night as a practice round for solving a murder or something like that! A girl could dream...
At the moment she was listening intently for snippets of a conversation all the way on the other side of the bed slash lunchroom. It seemed like a couple an argument over... "A baby? Oh she's pregnant...such an idiot..." Elle thought striking and holding the 'delete' key for several moments. Teen pregnancy, while certainly a pressing issue, wasn't one of Elle's primary interests. "If those stupid girls kept their legs shut, and 'their boys' started being more responsible for their actio...ooh what was that about electronics being half-off this weekend?" Elle started typing another segment of conversation, hoping to catch the name of the store two guys were chatting eagerly about.
A few minutes of this went by to no avail. Sure she could have just asked them about it, but ultimately Elle didn't really care. Bored with the dull chatterings of 'active minds' she opted to try something a little different. After saving her files, and putting her computer into a coma (what most would refer to as sleep mode) Elle stretched and shifted herself to a more relaxed position in her sleeping bag. She wasn't tired at all, how could she be with all these people sleeping around her? It had been a long time since she'd used her strange new powers to enter the dreams of someone outside her family and neighbor! It was pretty exciting.
Elle was just about to enter the dream of a girl lying next to her when she got the feeling someone was watching her. Not that they'd be able to suspect anything, when she entered a dream her appearance didn't change much, save for a rather vacant expression at times...so it wasn't like she had anything to hide. Either way though, it was awkward feeling eyes boring into you when you'd rather be thinking of other things. Shifting into a sitting position Elle looked around. The only person looking in her direction was her new acquaintance Terry.
Elle forced a smile and mouthed the word 'yo', not sure he'd understand she added a simple wave.

Terry thought he'd have a hard time finding her, but soon realized her pale skin did well to reflect in the darkness. He smiled as her eyes found him as well and waved back. There he sat for a second, unsure of how to proceed. He knew he wasn't really supposed to go over into the 'girls' side of the cafeteria, but he also knew it wasn't a big deal. 'It's not like they're gunna be changing over there or something...' he figured inwardly. With that thought he looked back over towards where most of the adult staff had gathered around the projector to try and fix it. It seemed like they were the only ones really watching the movie in the first place though. While a lot of the students noticed it, they mostly just sat in groups talking like Terry was kind of in now. Every one was having fun at the apsect of having a 'slumber party' at school. He looked around at the people he was sitting with as well. He had no idea what they were talking about, and they had mostly excluded him since he last went for more food. He could probably pop in at the next change of conversation or awkward moment, but at that second, he decided not to wait around for the meantime. He grabbed his soda, got up quietly, and, after checking one more time on the teachers, quickly stepped his way to where sat. "Hey what's up?" He whispered. He knew just a second ago that she had been laying down, so he scowled and said "You're not going to sleep already are you?" He smiled again after he put a playful emphasis in his question.

"No, no, trust me it goes in the yellow slot," Ms. Carter said to the teachers huddled around the projector. Taylor Hayashi backed away from the group of staff and yawned. As he did he heard other yawns behind him and he grinned when he saw that others were being affected by the contagious sign of exhaustion. Taylor then watched pondering if he had begun the chain reaction or was he just a link in the middle.
"Ms. Carter I'm gunna head home to see my family. I'll be back tomorrow morning," Taylor said to a teacher who probably didn't hear him. Well everyone else is asleep, he thought as he looked over at the already snoring teachers. And none of the staff noticed as he slipped out of the cafeteria and strolled over to the staff parking lot.
Taylor only lived a few minutes from the school and he smiled as he got near home. He was gunna surprise Katie who wasn't expecting home until after the festival.
Taylor then made the last turn onto his street, Hey, who's mercedes is that? The smile dissappeared.

"Hey what's up? You're not going to sleep already are you?" Terry said as he arrived beside Elle's sleeping bag.
With a grin Elle rolled her eyes and shook her head 'no'. Sighing inwardly that she would have to wait a bit longer to Dream Walk she flipped back over and opened her laptop up. It took a while for it to wake up, her computer worked really well, but for some reason whenever she put it into Sleep mode it just crashed on her. Fortunately, it hadn't been down for very long and came out of its coma unscathed. Opening a fresh word document Elle typed a message for Terry.
I was just taking a break from typing. Did you know we could get a wireless connecting in here? I was amazed!
When finished Elle turned the screen in his direction to read.

Terry smiled and waited for her to respond in her own special way. He was getting pretty used to it by now, still he hadn't even thought to ask him self why she liked to communicate this way. He'd put a little wondering towards it. Maybe she was mute or some craze case of def or something. He wasn't sure, but he didn't mind. As she prepped her computer to speak to him, he just looked around and checked on who was up to what. The teachers were still busy fussing over the projector. Watching them for a second, he noticed as Mr. H backed off from it, and then left. He thought that was weird for a second. He figured all the teachers were going to stay here to help in the morning. He would have thought about it longer, but he quickly noticed the message waiting for him. He turned and tried to peer into the word document. At first he had to squint hard, his eyes more used to the dark, movie going cafeteria, but he quickly adapted and smiled before he himself responded. "Haha, yeah? That's pretty sweet, I figured we'd only get it in the library or the computer labs if at all... so this thing get wi fi?" He looked at the laptop admiring it a little, then the thought to continue popped into his head. "Oh yeah, and I figured you wouldn't be going to sleep just yet, haha, who would? I just mean, I wouldn't... but I don't really wanna sleep in the first place, been having these weird dreams my self..." He broke off as he decided too much information was being shared. "Umm.. but yeah, how fast is the connection on this thing?" He said, re-motioning to the computer.
((Yeah, sorry if that seemed cheezy, I just wanted a place to throw in the dream thing, before I forgot... XD))

(Goddamnit! I replied to this like three times but it died each time and my post was lost. Well this time I backed it up on Word. Bite me ProBoards I totally win now! Sorry it's so short, I couldn't remember half of what I tried to post the first few times... *sigh*)
My connection speed kicks ass T.
Elle typed, shortening his name because she wasn't entirely sure how Terry spelled his name just yet. In this day and age many people chose to spell their names in unusual ways. While at the same time she liked the idea of just calling her new acquaintance by just the first letter of his name, it seemed to fit.
My computer is built for the Internet. Sure it has it's flaws elsewhere, but...well... Here, why don't you try surfing.
Elle turned the computer towards Terry indicating with loose sign language that he could join her for a bit. Of course while they were busy talking about her computer and the Internet all Elle could think about was what Terry had just said... "I don't really wanna sleep in the first place, been having these weird dreams my self..."
"Hmm..." Elle had huge mental grin growing inside her, "He doesn't seem the type to really let things bother him, much less announce them like that. It must be a pretty interesting dream..." She couldn't help hoping that although Terry had no plans to sleep tonight that he would crash soon.

Reading her note Terry didn't know what she meant at first. 'T, what?'. He squinted barley at it and read the sentence over a couple of time before realizing she was referring to him. He smiled and read on quickly, a little embarrassed at his 'slow-ness'. When she pushed it over him to try his eye brows raised up and he scooted a little closer to get a better reach.
"Oh I can try it huh? Where should I go..."
With his eyes to the ceiling he wondered for a second before going. His fingers took the touch mouse easily as the family computer was also his Dad's work issued laptop. The first site was obvious, myspace. His fingers moves steadily and quickly to each new key as he typed in the url and his own e-mail address and password. He was a fast typist, especially to those first few phrases that were canned in his mind from repetition. Even still though, he actually would practice when it was practical. He'd spent a lot of time typing several things on computers, so he always pushed himself to go a little faster and more steadily just so people would think he's good at something. Even now he typed to show off even though inside he really didn't care if she thought he was good.
Myspace was quick, there were a couple of messages from volunteer club people who all pretty much asked the same thing. He responded and moved on. He started up a myspace app. some people had forced him to do and was done there in almost lest then a second. He was becoming very impressed. Back home his brothers and sisters would complain about how long the app. would take. Next he moved to his e-mail and answered a couple more of the same question, but then he was stuck at where to go. He'd barley been on for more then a couple minutes and he was already pretty much done.
"Oh!" He said out loud before continuing. Next he moved on the a message board he was part of. He didn't know the url so he had to search through it back at his gmail account. Even the search was done quickly and he was on checking for new updates in a matter of seconds. "Wow, you're right, this thing is ridiculously fast... back home I'm not even allowed to check all the stuff I want to if there's a line behind me... Oh, by the way, you got a myspace?" He knew he wasn't at that site any more, but he could obviously get back there in a flash.

"You are getting sleeeepy... Sleeepy..." Elle thought vainly. So intense was her desire for Terry to go off to bed that she almost missed what he was talking about entirely. Blinking a few times to refocus herself she turned the computer back towards herself in order to reply.
No, I don't have a Myspace page. I had one made for me once by my bro-- Here she stopped and held the delete key for a moment. --by one of my friends, but I took it down. Elle shook her head slightly to rid herself of the depressing memories of her late brother.
I don't really care to do anything with it, but I have a blank account. I don't have any friends or anything else like that on it, but I can view other accounts with it. So I can bookmark your page if you wanted me to keep an eye on it. Forums, in terms of Elle's Internet social activity, were better than corruptible sites like Myspace, Facebook, or anything else like that. It was much easier for her to connect with people and really communicate. In her opinion only perverts, dumb high-schoolers, or people with no real lives frequented myspace.
Elle's myspace page was nothing more than a false name, a virtual blank canvas. She herself only used myspace to look up information on people she knew or to gain information about people she was trying to know... More often than not people were stupid enough to post their real names, pictures, and addresses on that social website. And that was generally all Elle needed, provided the information was all accurate and she was focusing really hard, to access their dreams later on...

Watching Elle respond Terry wondered for a second why the girl stopped and started to, as he assumed, delete a large part of her response. He saw as she shook her head and he wondered what could have been wrong. He quickly set the thought aside though, figuring she misspelled something or something like that. To think of it, he was sure he had never seen her spell anything wrong before. He further assumed she had had to work hard to write and type so fluently that simple errors could have probably easily frustrated her while in conversation.
Looking at what she said, he was surprised that she didn't have a myspace. These days it seemed like asking some one if they had a myspace or not seemed almost like a waste of time. She still sort of had one though, so he just shrugged and continued. "haha, yeah, umm, well my page isn't all that exciting, but if you want to check it out..." he gave the custom url to his own myspace before continuing.
"Yeah, it's not awesome or anything. I really only use it to keep in contact with people. Half the students here don't even use their e-mails any more 'cause or myspace. Sometimes I'll post club information, but as the secretary, it wouldn't be anything you don't already know."
A moment later he heard a commotion from the other side of the room. It seemed as though either, they had given up on the problem with the projector, or had broken it further. Terry looked up to see the group he was sitting with dispersing after having finished off the snacks he'd abandoned. It seemed like now a lot of students were heading off to bed, including a new crowd of girls that walked in the direction of the designated area he was technically not supposed to be chilling in.
"Oh, looks like they're going to want me to go huh?" He smiled and started getting up. "Well uh, haha, I guess I'll see you tomorrow!" With that he waved started trotting over to his own sleeping bag.
