Vehicle Name: Bettie
Type of Vehicle: Mech
Max High Speed: 10 mph while walking. Bettie has a pressurized lift system that's both designed to blow a fire out, and to life her. Take off takes approximately 5-10 seconds, and while going straight up, Bettie can reach a maximum of 20 mph.
Armor: Bettie was made as a sort of experimental fire fighting unit. Her main armor is the thick alloy designed to protect it from heat as well as damage from it falling, or other falling, burning debris. In her right arm she has a high pressure fire extinguisher that is linked to a compact ammo area that can contain up to 60 ounces. As Bettie is kept at the local Junior College, this compartment is usually left empty. Packed in her left arm is a quick action motorized axe designed to help Bettie take down obstacles in delicate situations. When there are potential victims in the way of her usual smashing strength, she'll use the axe to get to them with out hurting them.
Operation Style: Bettie is operated in what is the manual fashion for most mechs. This details a series of lever and peddles that control all her motions. Her driving style should be easy to operate by most trained mech pilots, and even a lot of every day large tractor drivers.
Manufacture: The manufacturing of Bettie was sponsored and paid for by the County of Brenton when the fire fighting Mech program was initiated. Designed as a sample model, Bettie was made to see how fire fighter and mech pilots could work together to get the job done. Deemed as a success, the fire department kept Bettie for a couple years, all the while getting good use out of her. Seeing as Bettie was indeed a success, Brenton County decided to continue in the mech program. Two years after Bettie's first deployment, the fire department was given a few upgraded models, and to keep uniformity, they decided to donate Bettie to the local JC.
