This is a role playing game. While I like the strong setting of literacy and the excellent chance to express ourselves through writing, I like to think of it as a fun pass time. So, as in any game, there must be room for progression.
The following terms will be applied in character progression.
Sub-Classes: At the contemporary level a player can make characters, or their own characters take on Sub-class, which serves as a secondary class. This allows players to mix it up with their characters and get a shot at rping a new thing.
A couple of rules must be applied when taking a Sub-Class. Sub-Classes are less naturally accessed and applied then your primary class. This means you're better at what ever your first class is. For example, at the contemporary level a witchcraft character decides to sub-class her character to also become a Human-Extreme. While the character retains all it's spell crafting abilities, it also gains the benefits of a Human-Extremist, but to a lesser degree as would some one who chose Human-Extremist straight out of the gate.
Also, you must select a new class to sub-class into if you decide to take a sub-class at all.
Character Groups: Character groups are things that allow your characters to make long term commitments with two or more characters that are controlled by other players.
Teams: Teams are short lived groups of people working towards one cause. Any one including and above the contemporary character level can start and join a team. Teams can meet up or post safely in the Team board.
Organizations: Organization are groups of people who combine for a long period of time for the purpose of working towards one or more global goals. In order for an organization to be founded, the participating members must have acted as an official team for at least one encounter. Also, only Leaders an start or lead an organization.
The following is a character/player ranking system.
Kid: No one is required to make or start out with a kid leveled character. Maybe they're for later on when you get bored with what your doing or just want to mix it up a little. The kid level will consist of a maximum age requirement of 10. The kid level also progresses with a handicap until it reaches the teenage years. ((Kids are like JR. Pokemon Trainers or Konohamaru from Naruto.))
Student: This character is for those who have just started out. A first time player on this site MUST start out with a student level character unless any moderator specifies other wise. Students need time to learn about their abilities and their places in the world. ((Students are like Harry Potter or Naruto himself.))
Contemporary: Contemporary players are those who've proven their literate role playing prowess. Upon posting one hundred role play based posts and with the approval of the mods, a player may make, or modify a character to reflect the contemporary level. This level allocates access to Character Sub-classes and access to groups above School clubs. ((These guys are like Kitty Pryde and Sabriel from her first book.))
Soldiers: While not necessarily soldiers, these guys represent just another level of separation from players. At three hundred posts and a minimum stat requirement, players can make new characters or modify their own to reflect the accomplishments of this level. ((People like Nightcrawler Sirius Black.))
Leaders: Again, they're not all actually leaders. This represents the second to last phase of character progression. At five hundred posts and moderator permission players can make these types of characters. These peoples are the ones who stand out about the exceptional. Still, while they have their own connections, they're not pulling all the strings yet. Characters at this level can actually start player groups.
Legends: This is the highest character level any one can achieve. Legends are few and far between. Characters who can change the world. Only Mods or other wise accepted players can achieve this level. (These are people like Indiana Jones, Storm, and Batman.)
