Vehicle Name: S.W.A.T. Mech Title # 770.01
Type of Vehicle: Mech
Max High Speed: The Swat mech has two capable modes of speed. In it's normal, mechanized walking mode, it can reach up to 10 mph. It's secondary mode is known as a 'mobile mode'. Used to reach and breach a hostile area in the least amount of time possible, it can transition into this mode. Normally upon deployment the mech will be in this mode to approach it's target. Upon reaching it's target it can transform into it's mech mode almost immediately. Returning to the mobile mode from the mech mode can take up to five minutes. While in mobile mode, the mech can reach excesses of one hundred miles per hour for up to twenty minutes before requiring refueling.
To be transported to any location, the mech requires the use of a flying buss with an appropriately larger hanger. The buss has hover capabilities so that it may land or take off from any open road or sturdy rooftop.
Armor: The mech is a battle ready machine, so it's armor is capable of withstanding large amount of damage. Designed to respond to threats ranging from that of hostage takers, to terrorists, the mech is appropriately accommodated. It's armor is also designed to absorb shots that would hit it, as apposed to letting said shots ricochets off towards friendlies.
On it's left arm it is equipped with a high powered rifle with two modes. The first being semi-automatic, it will fire single, more accurate shots; the second being fully-automatic, it will fire in a rapid spray. Usually to reduce casualty rating, the rifle is loaded with soft plastic bullets that, upon hitting anything, will release an electric shock designed to stun, or even temporarily paralyze a hostile. The gun may be loaded with regular rounds with out penalty.
The right arm is equipped with a high density lazer and suction cups emplaced in the hands. The lazer is powerful enough to silently cut glass should the mech require a more discreet entrance.
The arm is also equipped with a grenade launcher that is normally loaded with flash grenades.
Located on it's back, and only accessible while in mobile mode, is a large cannon. Loaded usually with soft ammo that is designed to weaken any brick wall or other solid surface the mech is supposed to crash through. The cannon can also do a lot to take out or slow down a moving vehicle.
Operation Style: While in mobile mode, the mech is operated in the most manual fashion. The pilot is moved to a laying position, looks forward at a screen showing it the outside, and uses two lever to guide the mech in the same fashion as a plane.
In standard mode the pilot is standing up and the mech is run automatically. It senses the pilot's movements inside, and responds accordingly. The pilot has a series of triggers at it's hands to use weaponry.
Also a part of it's operation is a team of five support members who translate and relay information taken by the mech, to it's pilot. The mech is equipped with a lot of scanning gear that normally would require a lot of computer space and weight to compute. In order to cut down on the mech's total weight and risk of loss, the designers created the flying buss. All information taken by the mech will be relayed to a team of six people on the buss. There it will be examined and quickly sent back to the pilot. The team consists of the following members.
Pilot and Co-pilot: They fly the buss.
Operation Manager: As the pilot sees every action through a screen in the mech, so does the operation manager. Usually in charge of the whole operation manager, he is a well versed expert in hostile situations, and is there to advice the pilot on how to proceed.
Situation Scanner: This person takes in all the scanned data, whether it be thermo signatures or environmental conditions. He processes them and relays them back to the pilot. His job is also to mark friendlies, hostages, and hostiles on the pilots heads up display. He finally also help coordinate action plans that include the order of whom the pilot can fire at. Using thermo scanners and advanced equipment, this individual can pick and list hostile targets before the mech even enters the building.
Troop Coordinator: This person coordinates the combined efforts of the swat mech and the ground swat members.
System Operator: This person is in charge of insuring all systems are operating under the perfect parameters. A large part of his job is examining damage taken and advising the pilot on how it should proceed.
While this party is not necessarily needed for the mech to function, it adds a strong edge to it's attack vector. The party is located in the mech buss.
Manufacture: The government took long strides in making this mech and supply every large city with one.
